Dr Sandra White, Clinical Director of the Association of Dental Groups and former National Lead for Dental Public Health, Public Health England has been awarded an OBE in the New Year’s Honours list for services to dental public health and COVID-19.
Neil Carmichael, Chair of the ADG welcomed the news saying;
“Congratulation to Sandra, and indeed all members of the dental profession who have been recognised in the New Year’s Honours list this year.”
“Sandra’s contribution to dentistry, improving oral health and reducing inequalities for the nation has been considerable over her career. In particular I would like to highlight her leadership at Public Health England when the pandemic first hit in March 2020 and advocacy of the benefits of water fluoridation throughout her career which has led to the inclusion of measures to roll out future schemes in the Health and Care Bill currently going through Parliament. The ADG is hugely grateful to have Sandra’s skills and experience in her current role as our Clinical Director.
